Nicole Kalms of Monash University is looking for specialised ‘teaching associates’ for Semester 1 2013. (Teaching associate is the Monash term for sessional tutors).

Interior Performance, by Chloe Chan, 3rd year, Monash University.

All positions are for teaching into the third year cohort and are in the following areas:

1. Tech tutor for Structures and Services.
Wednesday 2pm to 6pm.

A detail/construction orientated person to assist students developing prototypes and drawings for design projects.

2: Tutor for History and Theory in Interior Architecture.
9am to 12pm.

This involves leading and facilitating conversations on design theory and history. The role will include the development of a least three lectures (one hour) on a theme dependent on research interests and expertise. Includes marking written work.

3. Professional Practice Tutor.
Thursday 9am to 1pm.

This involves leading and facilitating conversations on all aspects of design practice, contracts, client relationships. The tutor needs to be a practicing interior designer or registered architect. There is an additional folio development and preparation component where students prepare a reflective collation of their design studios in preparation for the work placement.

4. Design Tutor.
Wednesday 9.30am to 1.30pm.

Co-teaching in a ‘performative’ – where students will explore the relationship between body, notation and choreography for the design of a flexible performance space. Tutor will be require to deliver three lectures in their area of expertise.
