Appoint Women is a service is run by the Office for Women. It matches candidates to vacancies on Australian Government decision-making bodies. This Australian Federal Government website section on women acts as a central location to find out about services and information that the government offers specifically for women. (There are also links to other special interest groups as diverse as students, children and veterans). Topics are varied and inlcude links to Government bodies focused on women such as EOWA and the Office for Women (OfW).Australian Human Rights Commission
As well as up to date information on human rights in general, the Australian Human Rights Commission website includes extensive information on sex discrimination and harassment at work and avenues for making a complaint. The website also has an extensive list of links.Fair Work Australia

The Workplace Gender Equality Agency has a very comprehensive site. What you will find: Information on legislation and workplace reporting requirements; statistics on women at work; case studies of best practice in “Employer of Choice” organizations; consultancy information. This is the renamed Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Agency.

APESMA
The Association for Professional Engineers, Scientists and Managers of Australia website contains a page dedicated to professional women and another one dedicated to architects. Includes links to national and international reports on women in the professions. This association publishes an annual survey on women in the professions. They also offer advice on pay, conditions and your rights at work.Australian Federation of Medical Women
The regularly updated website of the Australian Federation of Medical Women includes good resources on leadership and mentoring as well as material more specific to the medical sorority. It includes the excellent Bridging Leadership Barriers Project.Australian Institute of Company Directors
This site has a section on Board Diversity, which includes material on the AICD's mentoring programs, statistics for women on boards, and publications, guides and articles on diversity issues. Although aimed at the business world, much of this material can be extrapolated to thinking about diversity, women and leadership in architecture.Catalyst
A nonprofit membership organization, Catalyst conducts research into three principal areas: women in leadership, organizational change & effectiveness, and diverse women & inclusion. The website contains a large amount of research and discussion and includes Felice, the Catalyst IC Catalog, which contains more than 7,000 records from the Catalyst Information Center along with resources from around the world. Catalyst partners with the Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Agency to produce the annual Australian Census of Women in Leadership, which tracks the advancement of Australia’s women in the workplace.Chief Executive Women

Women in Leadership is one of the policy priorities for the Committee for Economic Development of Australia (CEDA), a national, not-for-profit economic research organisation. This site alerts people to the opportunities available within the construction industry and has a sub-section targeted at women. It’s primarily targeted at those in the early stages of thinking about careers, such as high school and TAFE students but others returning to the workforce may also find it useful.Consult Australia – Workforce Diversity
Consult Australia, an association for professional services firms within the built and natural environment, has a number of workforce diversity initiatives available to members. This centre at Edith Cowan University, WA, provides training in career development and publishes research and reports. Membership is free.Australian’s Women’s Register
Where do you go to find out about Australian women and their organisations? The Australian’s Women’s Register of course! This project is an initiative of the National Foundation for Australian Women and seeks to collate and source information about Australian women.
